Life as you get older

You know I find that it is very interesting the way older people begin to think. Why do some people just want to give up on life and why do some get bitter; yet others get to the point they want to do everything they can before they die. So what do you do when you find a relative doesn't want to live anymore? What can you get them to do to keep them occupied? Gulf, fishing, woodworking.... Now what do you do if the person has decided that if they are retired that means they are not supposed to do any sort of work? They even refuse tools and guy type items for Christmas because it is work. Sometimes I think there are no solutions only ways to occupy yourself to keep it from getting to you.
